Around the 1990s, concerns about sun damage led us down the fake tan route in order to get a sun-kissed look without associated damage.
For years, we were coating ourselves in cream and crossing our fingers (although not literally of course) that our tan wouldn't look streaky, all the while smelling ever-so slightly like a McVities Digestive.
Then the spray tan came to our rescue. We found that standing still while being coated with a fine mist was much easier than contorting ourselves by the bathroom mirror with a messy cream.
Sunless tanning has evolved over the years and it's still evolving now. The Unreal Sunless Tanning system uses a trick called Advanced Seasonal Technology - which basically means it matches your skin tone perfectly. So no more bright orange Ready-Brek glow effect, hurrah!
